Missed call answering FAQs

Find answers about missed-call forwarding, job enquiries, call summaries and following up with customers.

When you can't answer a call, the AI picks up, speaks to the caller, and collects key details about the job. You then receive a summary so you can call them back. If set up correctly, you'll receive a message for each missed call.

The AI answers when your call is not answered and is forwarded to the service after your set delay.

About 10 seconds gives you time to answer while still leaving enough time for your carrier to transfer the call. If forwarding waits too long, carrier voicemail, Call Screen, Take a Message or another service may answer first—or the forwarded call may not reach VoiceAU before the original call ends.

If 10 seconds feels too quick, open the guided setup, choose Use phone settings instead, then select your phone. Some phones and carriers let you choose a different delay. After changing it, call your mobile from another phone and let it ring out. If VoiceAU does not answer consistently, return to the recommended 10-second dial code.

Start with the guided setup. It provides the recommended code, copy-and-paste keypad steps and a test without needing to choose a phone.

If the 10-second delay feels too quick—or your carrier rejects the code—open Use phone settings instead on the setup page. Then choose your phone below for device-specific checks.

Choose your phone:

Use the guided turn-off journey for the off code, copy-and-paste keypad steps and a final test.

For reference, unanswered-call forwarding is normally turned off with ##61#.

If you also enabled forwarding while busy, turn that off separately with ##67#. Avoid broad reset codes because they may also disable carrier voicemail or unrelated forwarding.

Turning forwarding off does not delete your VoiceAU account or notification settings.
